- This project started as an identity development project while completing the Certificate in Graphic Design at RMCAD. The brief was for an environmentally conscious and modern contractor serving the local community of Denver/Boulder. Information about the mission‚ product‚ customer base for the company was gathered through interviews with the “client” (instructor). This company did not want to be branded in the stereotypical ”green“ way with leaves and trees and a green colored logo nor did they want a stereotypical name. This company did want a name and identity that reflected their commitment to sustainable building practices‚ the region in which they operate‚ and the modern aesthetic of their designs. Adobe Design + Build links the builder to the sustainable practices of indigenious peoples in the South West US. I felt that the geometeric angels and rational design of Paul Renner′s Futura typeface would fit well. The logo incorporates the shovel and home in a partial circle lock up (and slight inclinations toward the power button and a tree). A concept print ad was created urging people to look to their past to help answer questions about the future and sustainability. I also created a live website in hand coded xhtml/css. Summer‚ 2009
